Purpose of the course:

This course will teach chairpersons how to effectively chair a disciplinary hearing in line with the principles of fairness as envisaged by the Labour Relations Act.

Upon completion of the course delegates will be able to:
  • Chair a disciplinary hearing
  • Evaluate the evidence presented by the parties
  • Reach a finding of guilty or not guilty
  • Consider mitigating and aggravating factors
  • Decide on the appropriate sanction
