Employment and Labour’s Compensation Fund urges Medical Service Providers to submit relevant and correct documents to speed up medical payments
“Submission of banking details that do not match the Medical Service Providers (MSPs) registered details result in bank rejections, non-submission of supporting documents, Medical Service Providers that are not active on Board of Health Care Funders (BHF) are some of the challenges that the Fund experiences when processing claims” said Shashmika Hariparsad, Assistant Director: Medical Payments, during her presentation while engaging MSPs in Kimberly, Northern Cape Province on 5 December 2024.
This issue has resulted in some doctors not attending to patients with occupational injuries/diseases or invoice payment being delayed.
The Compensation Fund held a networking session to address challenges experienced by both the Fund and the MSPs especially the issue of payment of invoices.
The Fund will continue engaging with MSPs to ensure that there is a good working relationship for the benefit of occupational injuries and disease patients.
